India is not on the exemption lists of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, so Indian passport holders need a visa before they travel.

  • Indians qualify for the e-Visa only with a visa or residence permit of a Schengen country, the US, the UK or Ireland that is valid on the day they enter Türkiye; a used or unused visa counts, e-Visas of other countries do not, and the original must be carried.

  • Indians flying via Istanbul Airport to Mexico, Panama, Colombia or Venezuela need a free electronic airport transit visa (e-ATV) from evisa.gov.tr, in force since 15 April 2024.

    Turkish authorities will start the requirement of "Electronic Airport Transit Visa" (e-ATV) for Indian/Nepalese passport holders traveling to Mexico, Panama, Colombia and Venezuela transitting via İstanbul Airport.   • In the UAE, sticker visa applications are made in person at the VFS Global centres in Abu Dhabi and Dubai; the embassy and consulate do not accept them directly.
