Why other lists give different numbers
We count 39 visa-free countries and, separately, 25 that give a visa on arrival, each confirmed by the destination's own government. A visa on arrival is still a visa, so we never add it to the visa-free count. Lists with a higher number may also count visas on arrival and online travel authorisations as visa-free, include territories that are not countries, or keep rules that have since changed.

Which countries are visa-free for Chinese citizens in 2026?
As of 6 Nov 2026, 39 countries are visa-free for Chinese passport holders and 25 give a visa on arrival, according to their official sources. They include Albania (90 days in any 180), Angola (30 days per entry, 90 days per year), Antigua and Barbuda (30 days) and Armenia (90 days in any 180). Bahrain, Bangladesh and Burundi give a visa on arrival.

Is Germany or Europe visa-free for Chinese citizens?
No. Germany and the other Schengen states require a visa from Chinese passport holders under EU Regulation 2018/1806. A Schengen visa, once you have it, opens visa-free entry to some other countries, such as Belize, Colombia and Costa Rica.
